RUSSIANS IN KYRGYZSTAN VOTE FOR RUSSIAN PRESIDENT

BISHKEK, March 9, 2004 (RIA Novosti) - Early Russian presidential elections were held in several regions of Kyrgyzstan, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bishkek to RIA Novosti.

The elections were held in six settlements in the Chui region and in Kyzyl-Kiya, a city in the Batken Region where Russian citizens live.

Early Russian presidential elections will also take place on March 13 in Kant and Dzhalal-Abad (Kyrgyz cities), and at the Russian air base in Kant. On March 14, polling stations will be open in the Kyrgyz cities of Bishkek, Karakol, Tokmak and Osh.

According to official data, presently over 15,000 Russian citizens live in Kyrgyzstan.
