VIENNA, March 8 (RIA Novosti) - IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei accused Iran and Libya of having violated the main provisions of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT).

He said this at a session of the IAEA Board of Governors that opened today in the Vienna HQ of the agency.

"Tehran and Tripoli have violated their commitments stipulated by the NPT," Mr. ElBaradei said. He called the two countries to "full openness and transparency of their nuclear programs." Now the IAEA Board of Governors made up of 35 members, including Russian and US representatives started to discuss the report of the agency head on the state and prospects of Iranian nuclear programs.

The report, in particular, says that Iran imported high tech centrifuges that can be used to produce enriched uranium while creating own nuclear weapons.
