TBILISI, March 8 (RIA Novosti) - Georgian president Mikhail Saakashvili submitted to the country's parliament a bill on the abolishment of the security ministry of the Adjarian autonomous republic - one of Georgia's three formally existing autonomies with its capital in Batumi (the other two - Abkhazia with the capital in Sukhumi and South Ossetia with the capital in Tskhinvali - in early 1990s declared their withdrawal from Georgia and now de facto exist as independent (self-proclaimed) republics).

"Georgia has one Constitution and it must have one security ministry too," Mr. Saakashvili told journalists in Tbilisi.

According to the Novosti-Georgia news agency, Mr. Saakashvili also said that by his data, some officers of the Adjarian state security ministry are involved in "spying activities" against Georgia.
