    International Women's Day

    * To mark the International Women's Day, the European Commission will hold a conference on women's role in European political life. President of the European Commission Romano Prodi will open the conference to be attended by female Members of the European Parliament as well as by women working in various EU agencies.

    The Lithuanian Parliament will commence the procedure of impeaching the country's President Rolandas Paksas.

    BANGKOK

    Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma will commence his official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand (March 8 -11).

    SAN FRANCISCO

    The US District Court of San Francisco will hold a pre-trial review of the case of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Pavel Lazarenko in order to establish a tentative procedure of the court's hearings. Lazarenko is charged with laundering $114 million via US banks, fraud and carriage of stolen assets.
