PUTIN ENDORSES FERERAL LAW ON PRIVILEGES FOR ORPHANS ENTERING COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES

MOSCOW, March 7, 2004. (RIA Novosti) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has inked the federal law On the Making of Changes in Article 16 of the Law of the Russian Federation On Education, the Kremlin press service has said.

The federal law, adopted by the State Duma (the lower chamber of parliament) on February 13, 2004 and approved by the Federation Council (the lower parliamentary chamber) on February 25, is designed to improve Russian legislation in the field of education.

The law establishes privileges to orphans and children without parental case below 23 years of age, when entering state and municipal educational institutions of higher vocational training.
