TBILISI, MARCH 5, RIA NOVOSTI - Georgia's President Mikhail Saakashvili is determined to gain control over the Adzhar autonomy, he said to the media in Tbilisi, Georgian capital.

"{Republican President] Aslan Abashidze finds it a bad problem that the Georgian top seeks to regain control of Adzharia. It will do so, I say to that. I want to have a grasp on Adzharia, and I shall have it. I shall put an end to arbitrary rule-enough is enough! I am not [Eduard] Shevardnadze, [Georgia's recently overthrown President], and I don't mean to tolerate Georgia dismembered and ruined!" he snapped.

President Saakashvili called the entire nation to join emergent efforts to reunite the country.

Adzharia will take part in a Georgian parliamentary election of March 28, in compliance with the federal Constitution, he stressed.

"Many in Adzharia are siding with us, and the upcoming election will make many things clear as we shall not put up with whatever recalcitrant acts," the President firmly warned.
