UNITED RUSSIA TO CONTINUE CONSULTATIONS WITH NEW PM

MOSCOW, March 5, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - The United Russia faction will continue consultations on the new cabinet headed by Mikhail Fradkov within the next week, Speaker of the State Duma and leader of the faction Boris Gryzlov said on Friday.

He specified that he would have several meetings with Mikhail Fradkov to discuss the possible structure of the government and the cabinet.

He recalled that the future government would include Deputy Duma Speaker Alexander Zhukov as first deputy prime minister. Gryzlov specified that Mr. Zhukov had already participated in the formation of the new cabinet.

As for today's approval of Mikhail Fradkov's candidacy for the prime minister, Mr. Gryzlov noted that deputies had unanimously decided to support Mr. Fradkov.
