KIEV, March 5, 2004. (RIA-Novosti). The Dolphin-1, a Ukrainian ship, was towed from a sandbar in the Dardanelles strait and is now preparing to continue its journey to Lebanon.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry told RIA Novosti on Friday that on Thursday night, the Dolphin-1 ran aground on a sandbar in the Dardanelles strait. About midnight, the Ukrainian ship was towed to a safe place.

The vessel left the October sea port in Nikolayev for Beirut and was carrying gunpowder and caps for the hunting guns. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported that the Turkish authorities had not made any complaints to Ukraine.
