MIKHAIL YUZHNY FACES TOUGH OPPONENT IN DUBAI TENNIS TOURNAMENT

LONDON, March 5 (RIA Novosti) - William Hill Bookmakers believe Rafael Nadal of Spain will beat Mikhail Yuzhny of Russia in the quarterfinals of a tennis tournament in Dubai.

The winner of the match will advance to semifinals of the tournament. The prize money of the tournament is $1 million.

According to the bookmakers, Nadal's odds are 1.66 and Yuzhny's are 2.05.

On his way to the quarterfinals Mikhail Yuzhny beat 2nd seeded Guillermo Coria of Argentina and Denis Van Scheppingen. Rafael Nadal defeated Maxim Mirny of Belarus in the first round, and Olivier Rochus of Belgium in the second round.

The Spaniard and the Russian have never played against each other. Despite his age, 17 year old Nadal is ranked 22nd in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings, and has won five of his eight matches this season.

Yuzhny is four years older than his opponent and is ranked 72nd in the ATP rankings.

In the other quarterfinal matches Roger Federer, the number one player in the world, will play against Andrei Pavel of Romania, Ivan Ljubicic of Chroatia will face Feliciano Lopez of Spain, and Jarkko Nieminen of Finland will play Sjeng Schalken of the Netherlands.
