MOSCOW, MARCH 4. /RIA NOVOSTI / -- The Russian embassy to Switzerland gets all the required information on Vitali Kaloev, detained on suspicion of killing a Swiss air traffic controller, Swiss ambassador to the Russian Federation Erwin Hofer said in a live broadcast of the radio station Moscow's Echo.

"The Russian embassy gets all the information about the detained person", he said.

Hofer did not comment on the state of health of the detained Russian national, saying that the governmental authorities are not to provide such information. He only said that Switzerland adheres to the presumption of innocence principle. "At the present time, investigation is under way by the corresponding authorities. For the time being, we will not talk of his guilt or no guilt", Erwin Hofer said.

Vitali Kaloev is suspected of killing the SkyGuide air-traffic controller who was on duty when the Bashkiria-Air Tu-154 jetliner collided with a cargo plane above Bodensee. On Tuesday last week the man was stabbed to death in his house in Kloten near Zurich.

Kaloev was seized the day after in a Kloten hotel. Kaloev negates the guilt.

In July 2002 the Tu-154 of the Bashkir Airlines and a Boeing-747 transport plane collided in the German airspace. The catastrophe killed 69 passengers, mostly children, of the Tu-154 and the two Boeing pilots.

In this air crash Kaloev lost his entire family - the wife, daughter and son.

According to one version of the crash, the guilt lies with the murdered air traffic controller, in whose zone of responsibility the air crash happened.
