PROSECUTOR GENERAL'S OFFICE UNABLE TO SERVE RYBKIN WITH SUBPOENA

KIEV, March 4 (RIA Novosti) - On Thursday, members of the Ukrainian Security Service attempted to serve Ivan Rybkin with a subpoena from the Prosecutor General's Office.

A RIA Novosti correspondent reported that at the end of Mr. Rybkin's press conference in Kiev, members of the Ukrainian Security Service took Mr. Rybkin into a room where journalists were not allowed.

When Mr. Rybkin left the room, the head of his campaign staff, Xenia Ponomareva, said: "Rybkin has not been served with any subpoenas."

The deputy head of the Ukrainian Security Service's Main Department for Fighting Organized Crime and Corruption, Igor Grebennik told journalists on Thursday that he delivered a subpoena for Mr. Rybkin to the Premier Palace hotel.

According to Mr. Grebennik, the Prosecutor General's Office intends to take Mr. Rybkin's testimony regarding a case that was launched after Mr. Rybkin claimed that a month ago, he was forcibly held in an unconscious state in Kiev.

At the press conference in Kiev, Mr. Rybkin said that he had not been served with any subpoenas from the Prosecutor General's Office.
