MOSCOW, March 3 (RIA Novosti) - The goal of Russian halfback Marat Izmailov from Lokomotiv Moskva, which he scored against the French Monaco, was acknowledged as the best scored goal in the first games of the Champions League quarterfinals, the official web site of the Moscow club reports referring to the survey conducted by the UEFA official web site.

Marat Izmailov's goal was acknowledged as the best by 27.35% of the respondents. He is followed by Brazilian Edu from English Arsenal, who scored against Spanish Celta (23.19% of respondents). The third line in the survey of the best goal went to Benny McCarthy from Portuguese Porto, who scored the goal against Manchester United (17.29% of the respondents).

Winner of the survey Izmailov scored his goal in the following way: after receiving the pass from the wing, jinked past two defenders, steadied himself and unleashed a venomous strike high into the net past the surprised goalkeeper. The game ended 2-1 in favor of Lokomotiv, although the advantage in score could have been higher if Lokomotiv had not wasted half of the gilt-edged chances.
