CAIRO, March 3 (RIA Novosti) - The Qatar foreign ministry again stated that two Qatar nationals were detained in Moscow.

The Qatar news agency (QNA) distributed a message on Wednesday with reference to the talk with an anonymous spokesman for the Qatar foreign ministry, which reads:

"Two Qatar nationals - Naser Ibragim Saad and Ibragim Ahmed Naser Ahmed, who represent the Qatar Wrestling Federation, were detained at a Moscow airport. The Russian foreign ministry has not yet explained the reasons behind their detention despite its promises to do so on Monday, March 1.

"The Qatar consul has not been allowed to meet with the detainees, despite Qatar's repeated demands to permit such a meeting." The information about the detention became available last weekend. A source in the Qatar embassy to Russia said the two detainees were members of the Qatar Olympic wrestling national team who were going from Belarus to Serbia via Moscow.

The two sportsmen were detained because something was wrong with their transit documents and they had failed to declare a large sum of money, said the source.
