    SERVICEMEN STATIONED IN CHECHNYA TO CAST VOTE BEFORE TIME AT FEDERAL PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

    MOSCOW, MARCH 3. /RIA NOVOSTI / -- The early election of the Russian president will be held during three days - March 4 through 6 - in Chechnya.

    Abdul-Kerim Arsakhanov, chairman of the republican election commission, said by telephone on Wednesday "the early election has been arranged for servicemen of the units stationed in the mountains, hard-of-access and remote places".

    In all, 4,500 servicemen, including 3,700 Russian border guards, will vote before time, Arsakhanov said. He also said that the early election will be held at seven polling stations in the Vedeno and Shatoi districts.

    "These polling stations are fully ready for vote. The required number of ballot papers has already been brought here", Arsakhanmov said.

    The presidential election in Russia will be held on March 14.
