    SAILORS OF RUSSIA'S BALTIC KALININGRAD REGION TO CAST VOTE BEFORE TIME

    KALININGRAD, MARCH 3. /RIA NOVOSTI / -- In the Kaliningrad region (Russia's exclave on the Baltic sea; before WWII it was a part of Germany, called Eastern Prussia) 2,000 sailors will vote before time at the presidential election, the regional election commission has said on Wednesday.

    "Early voting began 15 days before the date of the election, March 14. Every Kaliningrad ship in cruise will have a polling station, 71 in all", said the regional commission.

    "Only one of the 71 ships is military", it added.

    "Data on voting at sea will arrive to the election commission by radio", it continued.

    In all, 739,000 people of the Kaliningrad region having the voting right will take part in the election of the Russian president. The region has unfolded a total of 499 polling stations.
