MOSCOW, March 3 (RIA Novosti) -- General Director of the Russian Armaments Agency (RAV) Alexander Nozdrachev told journalists on Wednesday before the RAV Board meeting to sum up 2003 that export deliveries by the RAV enterprises had increased by 8.5%.

He said, "in 2003 exports amounted to $885.4 million." According to Mr. Nozdrachev, the sales of civilian products to Eastern Europe and the USA accounted for a greater part of the increment of the export supplies. He also noted that military products were supplied mainly to the Asian and Pacific regions.

Mr. Nozdrachev cited the Uralsky Vagonnyi Zavod (Urals carriage making plant) state unitary enterprise as the largest exporter. He recalled that this industrial plant had completed the main export supplies of the T-90S tank to India.

Mr. Nozdrachev noted that the sale of anti-tank arms abroad was another major export item.
