MOSCOW, March 2, 2004. (RIA Novosti) -- The new Cabinet will certainly go on with Russian reforms, says Alexei Kudrin, acting Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister.

"These are epoch-making days - Russia is forming a new government. This is also a time of preparing a presidential election. I am sure it will be also a time, when forces consolidate in the government that will carry on reforms and buttress national finances," he said to a gala gathering at the governmental Financial Academy as it was celebrating its 85th establishment anniversary.

President Vladimir Putin has nominated Mikhail Fradkov Prime Minister, and a majority of parliament's lower house approve the nomination, Mr. Kudrin pointed out.

Mikhail Fradkov, in his turn, has nominated Alexander Zhukov First Deputy Prime Minister to show that financiers are highly sought today, he added.

Messrs. Fradkov and Zhukov "will guarantee success of essential financial reforms for which we are all working," he said assuredly.

"Russia will see other events quite soon. I don't want to specify now. I can only say they will upgrade our financial system and help it to join the world financial market," promised Alexei Kudrin.
