    MOSCOW, March 2, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Russian, Azeri, Armenian and Georgian religious leaders have discussed peacekeeping activities in the Caucasus in Moscow's Svyato-Danilov monastery on Tuesday.

    Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexis II, chairman of the Supreme Religious Council of Caucasian Peoples Sheikh Allakhshyukyur Pasha-zade, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II and Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II took part in the meeting.

    The Azeri, Armenian and Georgian spiritual leaders arrived in Moscow on Monday to participate in the 2nd CIS interfaith peacekeeping forum, which is held on the initiative of Patriarch Alexis II and Allakhshyukyur Pasha-Zade on March 2-3.

    The aim of the forum is to coordinate actions of CIS traditional religious organizations for the consolidation of interethnic and interfaith peace, traditional spiritual values, social assistance to the population and joint fight against common threats, including terrorism.
