MOSCOW, March 2, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - At the sixth session of the Assembly of Russian Business Quarters, "Women-Leaders of New Russia. Social Responsibility of Business," Tatyana Moskaltseva, the first deputy chief of the Main Legal Department of the Russian Interior Ministry, proposed that a system of cooperation between business and law enforcement bodies be established.

In her opinion, there are many problems in the Russian legislative system. Ms. Moskaltseva underscored the necessity of adopting a new Criminal Judicial Code because the current code "does not help business and does not allow for the creation the chief economic base of the state."

Apart from that, the spokeswoman for the Interior Ministry believes that it is necessary to pass a special law on protecting witnesses.

This law is "expensive" of course, but it can be "useful to the country from the point of view of bringing back the stolen capital," said Ms. Moskaltseva.

The sixth Assembly of the Russian Business Quarters met today in Moscow and was attended by representatives of all spheres of activity and of different political views. Three sectional meetings will also take place within the framework of the assembly.
