Russian President Vladimir Putin said about this at a meeting with well-known politician, former US secretary of State Henry Kissinger.
"We are following the internal political situation in the United States closely and took notice of the key provisions of the speech by George W. Bush in the Congress in January. We also scrutinized the publications of the US Secretary of State relating to the development of the partnership idea. All this fully corresponds to our ideas of the principles of development of relations between our countries," the Russian leader stressed.
"As you see we are seeking to develop those fundamental provisions which you have laid as the basis of Russian-US relations," the head of state noted.
"We are maintaining good relations with George W. Bush and we really have much which unites us," the President said.
In Putin's words, it was interesting for him to have a talk with the former US Secretary of State on Russian-US relations and discuss with him as an expert world developments as a whole.
