The agency's source said that "in the first half of the day Sergei Ivanov will meet with Paulo Portas who arrived in Moscow on an official visit on Monday." The official visit of the State Minister and Minister of Defence of Portugal will last till March 4. Talks with Russia's acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Ivanov and a meeting with representatives of the Interior Ministry are also planned within the visit.
The problems of the struggle against terrorism, and interaction of the military departments of Russia and Portugal will be discussed in the course of the meetings. Besides that, the theme of military-technical cooperation will also be touched upon at the talks.
After the end of his official meetings Portas will go to St. Petersburg on a familiarization trip.
