RUSSIAN SECURITY COUNCIL SECRETARY TO HOLD TALKS WITH MONGOLIAN LEADERSHIP

MOSCOW, March 1, 2004 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Security Council Secretary Vladimir Rushailo will go to Mongolia today. He is scheduled to meet with Mongolian President Natsagiyn Bagabandi, Prime Minister Nambaryn Enkhbayar, the national security council secretary, foreign and defense ministers.

They are to discuss bilateral relations and coordinate joint actions on the regional and international security consolidation, said the press service of the Russian Security Council.

The plan of cooperation between the Russian and Mongolian security councils for 2004-2005 will be signed during the visit.

Vladimir Rushailo will attend the memorial in honor of Russian soldiers killed on the Khalkin-Gol river 65 years ago and will meet with veterans of those historic battles. In May-August 1939 on the Khalkin-Gol river the Soviet and Mongolian troops were repelling attacks by the Japanese forces attempting to invade Mongolia.
