MOSCOW, March 1, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent) - According to Vladislav Reznik, chairman of the State Duma committee for credit organisations and financial markets and deputy leader of the United Russia faction, "all the market participants, including our foreign partners, will positively react" to Mikhail Fradkov's appointment as prime minister.
"By supporting Mikhail Fradkov's candidacy, the Russian president virtually announced strategic priorities of his economic policy in case of his victory at the March 14 polls," said the deputy.
He noted that Fradkov had devoted most of his professional career to working in the system of foreign economic ties.
"Mikhail Fradkov's active professional work in the European community was one of the fundamental motives for such a decision," said Reznik.
The State Duma will consider Mikhail Fradkov's candidacy to Russia's premiership on Friday, March 5th.
