MOSCOW, March 1, 2004. (RIA Novosti) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin demanded that the Defense Minister clear up the causes of the problems that arose during the exercises in the Northern Fleet.
"A commission must be set up in order to investigate the causes within the shortest possible time and submit proposals on the elimination of shortcomings," said the Russian President during a conference with government members.
A missile, launched during the exercise from a submarine, deviated from its course and self-eliminated. Vladimir Putin observed the course of the exercises.
