YEREVAN, March 1st, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - According to the census that was conducted in Armenia in 2001, 3,213,000 people live in Armenia, including 30% of them (1,100,000 people) in Yerevan.
According to Armenia's National Statistics Service, 2,066,000 people (64.3% of the total population) are urban residents, and 1,146,000 (35.7%) are rural residents.
99.1% of the country's population are Armenian citizens, 0.4% have no citizenship at all, 0.2% are Russian citizens, 0.1% - Georgian citizens and 0.2% are citizens of other countries.
