MOSCOW, MARCH 1 (RIA NOVOSTI) - State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov referred to prospective prime minister Mikhail Fradkov as a sincere and honest person, who fights corruption. (The State Duma is the Russian Parliament's lower house - Ed.) I had worked with him, while serving as this country's interior minister, Gryzlov told reporters; I know him as a sincere and honest person, who fights corruption in real earnest, Gryzlov added. Gryzlov made this statement, after consulting President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation.
According to Gryzlov, Fradkov has every chance of supervising a government, which would implement strategic nationwide reforms.
Fradkov is a real professional, who has worked at the Trade Ministry and the Ministry of Foreign-Economic Contacts all his life, also heading the national tax-police service, Gryzlov noted, adding that Fradkov was an economist and a jurist; moreover, he holds A Cand. Sc. (Econ.) degree.
The prospective prime minister will start holding consultations with State Duma factions already today.
United Russia believes that Fradkov's candidacy should be supported, Gryzlov said in conclusion.
