MOSCOW, February 28, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Galina Amelkina). Ex-President of the USSR, leader of the Social-Democratic Party of Russia Mikhail Gorbachev has called on all Russian voters to participate in the presidential elections on March 14.
"I call on everyone to give up their private affairs for some time and to go to polling stations," Mikhail Gorbachev told RIA Novosti. On Saturday he took part in closed meeting of the political council of his party.
According to Gorbachev, he called on his party members to participate in the elections.
The ignoring of elections is a very serious problem, he said.
