MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 27 (RIA NOVOSTI) - An administrative reform commission is ready with a bill to amend the acting licensing legislation. It aims to halve the present-day list of activities to be licensed.

The bill proposes making licensing unnecessary for tourism, construction, and another fifty-two businesses. It will reach the State Duma, parliament's lower house, within its spring session, Boris Alyoshin, acting Deputy Prime Minister, said to the media after a commission session today.

Prospective license abolition also concerns land surveying, cartography, electric transmission line exploitation, industrial safety inspections, oil and gas storage, disinfectant and insect-killer manufacture, and others, specified another commission member.

Before its next session, the commission is to regard another 72 license pursuits, so the list may get even longer, he added.

Licenses for a majority of trades under consideration today will be abolished, January 1, 2005, said our informant.
