MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 27 (RIA NOVOSTI) - S-400s and updated S-300s will be principal anti-aircraft installations in the Russian Air Force, said Vladimir Mikhailov, its commander, as he met with foreign attaches today to offer them long-term Air Force development blueprints.

S-300 and S-400 missiles have a flight range of 400 kilometers, and hit ballistic and low-trajectory missiles alike.

The Air Force command is now certain about updating SU-24, SU-25 and SU-27 fighter craft. Pilot training centers have received the modernized planes by now. A curtailed number of aspects for updating allowed to spectacularly improve army aviation.

All-round tests of pioneer MI-28N and KA-52 helicopters are coming to an end. The MI-28N will be principal war helicopter, while KA-52s are welcome for special operations.

Military transport aviation is also progressing apace. R&D has started on IL-112 jumbos, the IL-76MD is being updated, and Voronezh aircraft-makers will soon manufacture IL-76MFs.

Front aviation is among the most promising fields of progress, said General Mikhailov. There are problems now with the SU-30MKK and SU-30MKI. These problems will be solved as a new aircraft appears - stealthy and with powerful long-range armament.
