VILNIUS, February 27, 2004. (RIA Novosti). Lithuanian Foreign Minister Antanas Balionis has confirmed that three Russian diplomats were deported from the country because of actions beyond their competence.
The Russian diplomats attempted to get secret information in the parliament in order to influence the privatization process in Lithuania, the Foreign Minister told a briefing on Friday.
"We regret what has happened and hope that our relations with Russia will be friendly and constructive," Mr. Balionis said.
