ST PETERSBURG, February 27 (RIA Novosti) - State enterprise Admiralteiskiye Verfi (shipyards) in St Petersburg will this year pass to China's Navy two project 636 submarines (Kilo by NATO classification), enterprise CEO Vladimir Alexandrov said Friday.

In his words, the remaining submarines being built here for China will be passed to the country in 2005.

Admiralteiskiye Verfi intends to take part in the tender for construction of diesel-electric Amur project submarines for India's Navy. "Much will depend on the results of the Indian president's visit to Russia," he said.

Answering journalists' questions, Mr. Alexandrov said the launch of the St Petersburg fourth generation sub (Lada project) is likely to take place in summer 2004.
