MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 27 (RIA NOVOSTI) - Lithuania ordered two Russian ambassadorial officers and a trade representation functionary to leave the country, allegedly for activities incompatible with their diplomatic status but without specifying it.

Russia views the demarche as unfriendly toward it, and reserves its right to respond with adequate steps, says Alexander Yakovenko, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman.

Russo-Lithuanian relations have lately revealed trends for progress. It is not to the liking of certain forces in Lithuania. Those forces are getting ever more active now, as the expulsion shows.

The three Russian diplomats have left Vilnius, added Mr. Yakovenko.
