ALMA-ATA, February 27 (RIA Novosti correspondent Andrei Malosolov) - Russia will soon double its GDP, acting Prime Minister Viktor Khristenko told a session of the Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) in Alma-Ata.
He said that the Russian GDP increased by 7.3% in 2003. He also said that Russia's economic growth rate last year exceeded many other countries'.
"For the first time in the decade Russia is on the way to double its GDP. The basic contribution to the 2003 GDP growth were made by the industry complex, construction and market service sectors," Mr. Khristenko said.
