BRUSSELS, FEBRUARY 26 (RIA Novosti correspondent Alexander Shishlo) - Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, NATO Secretary General, invited Sergei Ivanov, Russia's acting Defence Minister, to attend a third international conference on military officers' contribution to the anti-terror cause. It will gather in Norfolk, Conn., USA, April 5 into 7.

"The invitation reached us today," Konstantin Totsky, Russian spokesman at NATO, said to Novosti.

"It is hard to say now whether the minister will go. I think he will unless whatever major international negotiations coincide with the event." Russian delegates appeared at the two previous similar conferences, he pointed out.
