The congress will discuss the results of the parliamentary elections in Iran, Armenian-Azeri conflict, methods of boosting the efficiency of work of the Azeri diaspora and handling the goals it is facing.
The congress is going to adopt an appeal to international organizations and the parliaments of some countries for recognizing the fact of genocide of the Azeris in Hodzhaly.

The congress is also going to discuss the formation of a national fund for resolving the national problems of Azerbaijan.
The congress will attract over 600 people from different countries. Azerbaijan proper will be represented by over 70 people, among which managers of the Azeri State Committee for Work with Compatriots, parliamentarians, representatives of political parties.
The Azeri diaspora in the world is split into two organizations bearing the same name. The Alternative Azeri Congress held its seventh get-together in Strasbourg on January 30.
