    PUTIN, BUSH INTEND TO BUILD UP COORDINATION AGAINST INTERNATIONAL TERRORISM

    MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 26 (RIA NOVOSTI) - Vladimir Putin has had a telephone conversation with American President George Bush.

    The Kremlin press service told RIA Novosti that the two leaders have voiced satisfaction over the reached level of interaction. They have noted the presence of real opportunities for the further build-up of coordination, including in the struggle against the international threat of terrorism.

    Talking of international affairs, Putin and Bush discussed the Iraqi developments. They stressed the need for the consolidation of efforts of the international community towards the ensuring of stabilization in that country, rehabilitation of its sovereignty and, in this connection, the importance of efficient work of the United Nations in Iraq.

    During the conversation, the American president shared the assessments of the results of the just-ended visit of Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili to the United States.

    The telephone conversation was held within the framework of the regular exchange of opinions on the topical problems of bilateral relations and international affairs.
