MOSCOW, February 25, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - International cooperation in the fight against terrorism has been gaining momentum in the past couple of years, Acting Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov of Russia noted Wednesday as he addressed a Moscow press conference after a meeting with his visiting Turkish counterpart, Abdullah Gul.

Russia and Turkey know first-hand what terrorism is all about as nationals of both countries have more than once fallen victims to terrorist attacks, Ivanov remarked.

Gul, for his part, reported that the problem of global terrorism had also been high on the agenda of his talks with President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
