MOSCOW, February 25 (RIA Novosti) - Greek ambassador to Russia Dimitrios Paraskevopoulos asked the Russian Foreign Ministry to back Greece's candidacy as EXPO-2008 venue. On Wednesday the ambassador met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Denisov.
The Russian side has promised "to thoroughly consider" this request.
EXPO international exhibitions are held once in four-five years. The last exhibition took place in Hanover (Germany) in 2000.
