PERTROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, February 25 (RIA Novosti) - The passengers of a bus that was stuck in the snow were evacuated to the nearest settlement, Ust-Kamchatsk, the dispatcher of Kamchatavtodor road service told RIA Novosti.

"All 20 passengers and the bus driver feel well and no injuries have been reported," the dispatcher said.

The passengers spent more than 12 hours on the bus (a converted Ural truck). The bus was stuck in the snow on the Klyuchi - Ust-Kamchatsk highway only five kilometers from the district center.

The bus had enough food and fuel for three days.

A snowstorm with zero visibility prevented road service workers from clearing snow-blocked highway.

The road will be closed until Thursday when the weather, according to the meteorological service, will improve.

The district center of Ust-Kamchatsk, which has a population of over 5,000, and the Krutoberegovo settlement, which has the district's only airport, have been cut off from the outside world.

The residents of these settlements are provided with basic supplies. No interruptions in supplies of heat, electric energy or water have been reported.
