MOSCOW, February 24, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Andrei Malosolov/. - The discharge of Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov will not change the course of reforms in Russia, Alexei Kudrin, Russian Minister of Finance and Acting vice-Premier, told journalists.

In spite of his removal the government will go on fulfilling its duties and carry on the reforms charted out, the official said.

"I hope this will only speed up the course of reforms," the Acting vice-Premier pointed out.

"This is a right, brave and fair decision, made to select the next premier and the policy to pursue," Kudrin said in appreciation of the president's move.
