MOSCOW, February 24, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent) - In the near future passengers will be searched at the entrance to all Moscow airports, Russian First Deputy Transport Minister, head of the Civil Aviation State Service Alexander Neradko has announced.

"Passengers will be searched with the help of metal detectors and introscopes at the entrance to airports. This will happen simultaneously in the airports Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo and Vnukovo in the next few months," he said.

Neradko hopes that passengers will understand the new measures. "All taken measures are introduced to ensure security of our citizens and we hope that passengers will quickly adjust to them," he explained.

The Moscow airports are now buying the necessary equipment and soon will start installing it, he added.

Neradko supposes that the country's main air gateway, the international airport Sheremetyevo-2 will be the first to install metal detectors and introscopes.
