TEHERAN, February 22, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Nikolai Terekhov). - Spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Khamid Reza Asefi has given a high assessment to Russian-Iranian nuclear cooperation.

"Our cooperation with Russia in the nuclear sphere is positive and aims at peaceful nuclear developments," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to Asefi, "all Russian-Iranian interaction in the specified sphere complies with international legislation".

Apart from building the Bushehr nuclear power plant, Russian experts may take part in other projects to develop Iran's nuclear industry, he said.

"Everything points to the fact that we do not pursue any goals other than peaceful use of nuclear energy," Asefi concluded.
