MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 20. /RIA NOVOSTI / -- Russian presidential economic aide Andrei Illarionov has called "economic Oswiecim" the Kyoto Protocol.

"It is economic Oswiecim not only for Russia but other countries too", he told the news conference held at the international forum on the Kyoto Protocol and the attraction of investments in energy-efficient projects.

In the opinion of Illarionov, this accord intends the creation of "a bureaucratic monster, which will fix exhaust limits for countries and certain companies".

At economic growth rates from six to eight percent, Russia will exceed the set limits by as early as in 2009-2010, he warned. It is proposed to increase the limits after 2012, he noted.

"Russia protects not only its own but the common interests of the entire mankind", he said.
