TRANS NAFTA TO SUPPLY 640 MILLION CUBIC METERS OF GAS TO BELARUS

MOSCOW, February 19, 2004. (RIA Novosti). The Trans Nafta company, an independence Russian gas supplier, has signed a contract with Beltransgas on gas supplies to Belarus till the end of February, Trans Nafta gas department head Denis Vinogradov said.

According to him, 640 million cubic meters of gas at the price of 46.68 dollars per 1,000 cubic meters will be supplied to Belarus.

"The gas volume should be sufficient to Belarus till late February," Vinogradov noted.

In his words, the company is ready to resume supplies in the near future, after some technical issues are solved.

Speaking about the repayment of the Belarussian debt for gas supplies in January and February, Vinogradov said that Belarus never refused to repay this deft, however Trans Nafta has received no money yet.

Denis Vinogradov could not answer the question on the prolongation of the contract for March.
