MOSCOW, February 19, 2004 (RIA Novosti) - Gosstroi, Russia's state construction committee, has no evidence that the water park collapse was caused by a terrorist blast, Gosstroi Deputy Chairperson Larisa Barinova told reporters.

The committee cannot this far name the avenues of inquiry.

"Unlike numerous "analysts" who have nothing to do with the construction industry, I will not name the avenues of inquiry until certain facts are confirmed," said Ms Barinova.

A variety of reasons could cause the disaster, said Ms Barinova.

She said concrete and reinforcement used to construct the Transvaal Park were up to standard.

"Judging by the samples we have examined concrete was quite normal and loaded conservatively, reinforcement was also up to standard," said Ms Barinova.

On February 14, the massive roof of the swimming centre caved in killing 26 and injuring more than 100 people.
