MOSCOW, February 19. (RIA Novosti correspondent). The issue of gas delivery to Belorus must be settled very quickly, believes Boris Gryzlov, Speaker of State Duma (the lower chamber of the Russian Parliament).

He thinks the issue of gas delivery to the republic is in the economic sphere. "The matter is that the economic bodies have failed to agree upon the continued gas delivery", said Mr Gryzlov to the press.

"I think that the issue needs quick decision", he said.

"We understand that the cessation of gas delivery is a problem for Belorus. But we must note that it is also a problem for Russia", said Boris Gryzlov. He stated that the problem had also impaired gas supply in the Kaliningrad Region (a Russian exclave in the Baltic), where gas delivery had been reduced.

As of 18:00, Moscow time, on Wednesday, Gazprom had to cease gas delivery to Belorus and its transit through the territory of the republic due to unauthorized pumping-out by the Beltransgaz company.
