MOSCOW, February 18, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Terrorism, organised crime, illegal migration, the proliferation of mass destruction weapons and drug trafficking, i.e. problems that pose the gravest threat to the European community, must dominate the agenda of the winter session of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe. Konstantin Kosachev, head of the State Duma committee on international affairs, who is leading the Russian delegation to the OSCE session, said this in a RIA Novosti interview on Wednesday.

Moreover, European MPs will discuss the possibility of ratifying an agreement on the adaptation of the Treaty on the Limitation of Conventional Armed Forces in Europe.

The NATO countries are reluctant to ratify the agreement, which places Russia in a position inferior to that of EU countries, said Mr Kosachev.

Yet, the MP said Moscow should not rush to ratify the agreement as it would oblige Russia to immediately withdraw its military bases from Georgia and Moldova.
