MOSCOW, February 18, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade may review at the end of the first quarter the GDP growth forecast for the 2004, Deputy Economic Development Minister Arkady Dvorkovich disclosed on Wednesday.
According to him, "the revaluation can take place at the end of the first quarter." "It's the time for the preparation of the scenery conditions and usually at this time of the year we correct the forecast," Mr. Dvorkovich explained.
The Deputy Minister reminded, that the official forecast for the 2004 GDP growth was estimated at 5.2%. This figure was included in the 2004 budget. However, according to the favorable scenario the GDP growth can reach 5.5-5.8%.
At present, the so-called per capita GDP, calculated at the parity of the buying capacity, is estimated at $7,000, Mr. Dvorkovich said.
