FIRST TENDERS TAKE PLACE WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF STATE INTERVENTIONS ON GRAIN MARKET

MOSCOW, February 18 (RIA Novosti correspondent Marina Gradova) - In the course of the first three mini-sessions at the tenders within state commodity interventions on the Russian market, 6,500 tons of grain have been sold from the intervention fund.

As this RIA Novosti correspondent reports from the Central Russian Universal Exchange, where the tenders are going on, the total sum received on Wednesday at the tenders amounted to 21,768,500 rubles (one dollar = approximately 29 rubles).

Wheat of the third and fourth classes and rye have been put up for sale.

Eleven mini-sessions are planned for today.

As was earlier reported, the total size of the intervention fund amounts to 1,600,000 tons.
