MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 17 (RIA Novosti) - Alexander Nozdrachev, director-general of the Russian agency on conventional weapons told a Tuesday press conference that he does not rule out the establishment of joint Russian-Indian ventures specializing in the production of armaments and technology. Such plans are to be implemented in the long run. He added that the Indian side is concerned about joint enterprises in optics and electronics as well as tank motors.

He confirmed the existence of some other joint plans but did not specify them.

"Apart from our relations in the military sphere, there are projects of joint work on dual purpose production," added Nozdrachev.

He noted that the Indian market was a priority one for Russia. Among Russian exports to India are the Igla missile systems, the Cornet anti-tank complex and the T-90C Bogatyr tanks.
